Celine came to Charlotte in October for her first visit to the city. We had a wonderful time together although much of the time was spent in Charlotte because Daniel had to work. What is it with people who works for banks? Is their work really that important?
We were able to put a few days together for a trip to Asheville, including the Biltmore Estate. We took the long way hoping to enjoy the fall scenery along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was not the perfect day for a drive as it rained most of the way. That was unfortunate, but we kept on. The weather cleared up for our time in Asheville.
The Biltmore Estate was beautiful when we were there. We checked out the mansion and the gardens before finding the perfect picnic spot across the lake from the mansion. With the beautiful fall weather that day, the picnic was glorious. We sat next to the lake with the mansion in the background. The less than perfect weather on the drive was more than made up for by the beautiful day we had at the Biltmore.
Before Celine flew out, we had one last Date Night dinner at the Zebra in Charlotte. I had thought about checking out the restaurant for a long time but never had the chance or desire to spend that kind of money on a dinner without a good reason. Celine’s visit provided the perfect reason and we enjoyed it tremendously.
